Artist Biography 

”As a native Mississippian, I really appreciate my heritage. I paint what I love best.”

Jean H. Garretson has had numerous exhibits and has published seven historical calendars of her state. Her pencil drawings appeared in four pages of the 1990 Reveille. Many public and private collections display her watercolors and drawings. Her limited edition prints are examples of favorite scenes and subjects.

Recently her commissions have been in the field of residential interior design.

The artist received forma training at Mississippi State University, Eastern Shore Art School, Arrowmont School of Art, University of Southern Mississippi and the Scottsdale School of Art as well as through private study with Daniel Greene, Macine Masterfield and Zemsky-Hines.

She is a member of the Mississippi Watercolor Society, Eastern Shore Art Association and FAMOS Art Museum.
